One Coat Stops Leaks • Reduces Under-Roof Temperatures up to 15o
ROOF COATING is a scientific blend of pure aluminum pigment, polyethylene fiber and asphalt-an unbeatable combination for roofs. ROOF COATING provides year-round weatherproofing, insulates and seals small leaks, cracks and seams. When used on composition roofs, ROOF COATING shields the surface against the sun’s rays, thereby eliminating the drying and cracking which normally takes place on this type of roof. On metal roofs ROOF COATING, because of its heavy consistency, remains flexible longer providing greater durability than conventional aluminum roof paints.
DO NOT THIN OR ALTER IN ANY WAY
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be clean, dry and free from loose particles (especially on slag roofs). Nail down all loose nails and flashings and patch open breaks or torn roofing. New asphalt roofing should weather three months before painting-tar roofs, one year. On metal, remove all rust and prime rusted areas with a rust inhibitive metal primer. Allow 48 hours drying time before coating. New galvanized iron should be weathered six months or more before painting.
MIXING: Pour one-third contents into a separate container and stir balance for not less than ten minutes. Pour the mixed paint back into the remaining liquid and repeat this mixing procedure until all pigment is incorporated.
APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly (refer to mixing directions). Apply a thick, free flowing coat by brushing in one direction only, always finishing into a previous pasted area. Use a good bristle or fiber roof brush-drying time about two hours. Clean up excess material with kerosene or mineral spirits.
Do not use oil paints over ROOF COATING since it occasionally results in bleeding.
